Paying for child care is a daunting expense for working parents living on a tight budget. In addition, the time required to take a child to day care before going to work and to pick up a child up after work consumes a day and diminishes quality of life. If you are a professional customer service representative, health care provider or software developer, you have several companies from which to choose that offer on-site child care.
Health Care Providers
As of February 2011, clinicians, allied health care professionals and supporting facility maintenance and administrative staff in New Jersey, Kentucky, Arkansas, Ohio, South Florida and Massachusetts enjoy the benefit of on-site child care ranging from $400 to $800 per month per child. Participating companies and organizations include King's Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky, Bright Horizons Family Solutions of Watertown, Massachusetts, the health care systems, Baptist Health South Florida, Ohio Health headquartered in Columbus, Neptune, New Jersey's Meridian Health, Atlantic Health in Morristown, New Jersey and Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
Statisticians and Software Developers
Statisticians, office administrators and software developers enjoy on-site child care at SAS in Cary, North Carolina. As of February 2011, employees pay $410 per month for a 3-year-old. Care for employees' children extends to the provision of an organized summer camp. The children of software engineers working for the United Services Automobile Association (USAA) in San Antonio, Texas, are eligible for enrollment in their on-site child development center. As of February 2011, attendance costs approximately $352 per month per toddler. USAA employee benefits also cover charges for off-site care in the event the on-site child development center reaches enrollment capacity.
Insurance sales representatives, product developers and agents enjoy on-site child care at Aflac in Columbus, Georgia. As of Feb. 7, 2011, monthly costs to employees with a 3-year-old pay $352 per month. Additional perks that help employees benefit from extended child care hours include an on-site fitness center and several cafeterias.
Customer Service Representatives
Customer service representatives can work for almost every company listed here. The United Services Automobile Association hires them as member services representatives. Health care companies hire them as receptionists, greeters, information desk staff, medical records staff, cashiers and unit clerks. Two more companies that provide on-site child care for customer service representatives are Men's Wearhouse and Publix Super Market. As of Feb. 7, 2011, Lakeland, Florida's Publix employees pay approximately $542 per toddler per month for the on-site service while retail personnel at Men's Wearhouse in Houston, Texas, are charged on a sliding scale between $325 and $780 per month, depending on hourly pay rate and hours worked.
