How to Become an eBay Distributor

eBay is a popular website that allows you to buy and sell thousands of products through their online marketplace. Becoming an eBay distributor has plenty of perks. First, as a small business owner, you have the flexibility to set your own schedule. You can choose to either become an eBay distributor part-time or full-time, depending on your career goals. Also, you don't need much experience, except for a basic understanding of how eBay transactions work.

Sign up for an eBay account. Go to ebay.com, and click on the "Registration" button. Fill out all the necessary information, then submit the form. Confirm your registration by clicking on the link in the email you receive from eBay.

Research potential products to sell on eBay. Pick several products you think you would like to distribute on eBay, and check the completed listings, which will give you an idea of what the supply and demand is like for these products. To view the completed listings, first sign in to your account, then type in the product name you are searching for. Scroll down the page, and click on the "completed listings" box on the left side of the page. Then you will be able to see the price and frequency for recent listings of that product.

Find products to distribute. After you have done your research and found a products or products with potential, it's time to find your supplier. There are several companies that have products you can distribute and sell on eBay, including Doba, Mega Goods or Liquidation Time. You can also type in the name of the product you want to sell along with the word "supplier" in an online search engine to find companies that manufacture the product you want to sell.

Post your listings on eBay. Write a title and detailed product description. Include all features and benefits of the product in the listing, and communicate information about your company, returns and shipping. Write the listing in a concise, friendly manner so you build rapport with potential customers.

Use eBay's multitude of tools and resources to help you maximize your sales. Sign in to your eBay account, and click on the "Seller Tools" link at the top of the page. eBay has tools for all types of sellers from big to small, so check them out and see if any of them fit your needs.

Getting positive feedback is the best way to show prospective buyers you run a reputable, dependable business on eBay. Send each of your customers a personalized email thanking them for doing business with you and asking them to provide positive feedback.
