Reservations Crew Job Description

The primary responsibility of JetBlue's work-from-home reservations crew members is to provide customer service over the phone. This includes making reservations for air travel, making changes to reservations as requested and handling customer inquiries about travel. Given the nature of the air travel industry, this often means addressing customer concerns and problems, such as rebooking canceled or delayed flights. Reservations crew members are also expected to sell ancillary products to consumers, such as travel insurance, seat upgrades, and other services. Crew members are expected to provide the JetBlue experience to every customer on every call, which means providing excellent, friendly service and solving problems quickly and efficiently.

Becoming a Part of the Reservations Crew

To work from home for JetBlue, you must reside in either the Orlando or Salt Lake City metropolitan areas, as that is where the company’s call centers are located. The company also requires applications to have at least a high school diploma or the equivalent, two years of customer service experience, and basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and the ability to type at least 25 words per minute. The job requires a dedicated phone line and a high-speed internet connection, and a distraction and background noise-free environment. JetBlue conducts a 10-year background check and pre-employment drug testing on all applicants, and you must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.

Beyond the basic requirements for reservations crew, JetBlue does prefer candidates who have previous call center or reservations and sales experience. They look for candidates who are highly motivated, organized, and excellent problem solvers. For the Orlando call center, which handles reservations for the Caribbean and Latin America markets, being bilingual is a plus. All crew members must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as overtime, as required.

If you meet the qualifications for a reservations crew position, apply online at the JetBlue careers website. The company only accepts applications online. Selected applicants have the opportunity to take a 45-minute online assessment. After the assessment, candidates may move on to a brief phone interview. From there, candidates move on to the Blue Review, an in-person assessment and group interview, and the background screening and drug testing portion of the hiring process before receiving a formal job offer. Upon hire, you’ll be scheduled for training at the Salt Lake City Support Center or JetBlue University in Orlando. The entire process can take several weeks.
