Whiteboards are used in business meetings and presentations to communicate statistics, ideas or for open discussions. Being able to have the whiteboard portable and easy to view is essential for any business. This stand is simple and lightweight so it can be moved around and not take away from the presentation being shown.
Cut the 82 3/8-inch boards at the ends at a 15-degree angle using the table saw. These will be the two front legs.
Measure 78 inches up from the bottom of the front legs and drill a 3/8-inch hole through the widest side.
Drill two holes in the 81-inch board at 39 inches up and 74 inches up. Use the same 3/8 inch drill bit from previous step. This will be the back leg.
Line the three legs up with the 81-inch back leg in the middle. Place the 7-inch bolt through the three holes. Put a washer and nut at the end of the bolt. Spread the two front legs apart to 45 inches. Tighten the upper bolt.
Lay the 48-inch board across the two front legs 38 inches up from the bottom. Drill and bolt this cross piece to the front legs using the two 5-inch bolts, nuts and washers.
Place the wood glue on the bottom edge of the plywood and on the front legs. Secure the plywood piece in place against the cross piece and front legs with the nails. Tie the rope through the back leg drilled hole at 38 inches. Spread the back leg apart from the front legs to a desired angle then tie the rope through the eye screw affixed to the cross piece. This will prevent the legs from spreading too far apart and falling.
Sand the entire piece with the sander until smooth. Wipe off any excess dust. Apply two coats of stain and allow to dry. Your stand is now ready to use for your whiteboard.
Pick a color stain that matches your office furniture or decor so it blends in. The back plywood piece makes the stand more solid, but is not required if you would like a more lightweight stand.
Use safety glasses when cutting and drilling any wood pieces.
