Social media has become increasingly popular among millions of people and many businesses. It is not uncommon to see television commercials and Internet sites with Facebook logos and web addresses. According to Facebook, there are over five million active users with 50 percent of these people logging in everyday. Real estate agents are part of the Facebook population, using the social phenomena as a marketing tool. There are many resources that can be used to share listings on Facebook.

Use Seemylistings.com. This website offers a free tool specifically designed for licensed real estate agents. The site transports all of an agent's listings from Realtor.com by feeding them to an application on Facebook.com. Go the website, click on "Add my listings." Follow the directions to get your listings added on Facebook.com. This application is for all real estate agents that use a multiple listings system. An MLS enables all realtors to interact with each other in regards to marketing real estate property.

Use Craigslist.com. This website has over 20 billion page views a month. Real estate agents can advertise and market their listings on the site for free. After posting an ad to Craigslist, utilize the link you receive from Craigslist to post on Facebook. At the top of your Facebook page where it says "what are you doing?," click on the small icon below that says "link." Here you will be able to post your Craigslist ad on Facebook by pasting the link and hitting enter.

Use VirtualTour.com. This is a common software real estate agents use to create real estate virtual tours. You can create tours with the software by uploading photos and adding music. After creating the tour, post the link on Facebook. Click on the link icon again on Facebook to paste your html code for the tour.

Use Facebook Marketplace. This is a great application for real estate listing searches and posts. Find Marketplace on Facebook or google "Facebook Marketplace" and click on the "Real Estate" tab at the top of the page. You will then be able to upload pictures and information about your listing which you will then be able to share on Facebook. You must have a Facebook account to use this feature.

Use the Roost Social Media Tool Kit. This is an another application that belongs to Facebook. Click on "Allow" for the application. Then click "Create real estate tab." Continue on with the steps and you can have a market snapshot by entering your city information. You will be able to share market trends and information in regards to real estate in your local area. This application is only for Facebook fan pages.

Tip

You must have a Facebook account to access some applications.

Social media is a tool that needs to be kept up regularly if using it as a marketing tool. You want your online friends to keep coming back.

All of these applications do not have to be used together.
