How to Become a Samsung Dealer
Are you interested in selling Samsung products? Well, you can’t do it without Samsung’s permission. The process isn’t complicated though and can be completed in just a couple of months. While it is straightforward, you will have to establish a business first before you contact Samsung to buy their products for reselling.
Establish the Business
Samsung will only allow licensed retailers to sell its products. These come in a wide variety and include televisions, cameras, mobile phones and home appliances. To establish your business, you should first incorporate it as a company in the state in which you plan to base your retailing business. Once you’ve done this, you can apply for a retail license. You don’t have to do this in the state in which you’ll base your retail business; you can do it in your home state. For tax purposes, you’ll also need to apply for an Employer Identification Number or EIN. You can apply for this online on the Internal Revenue Service’s website.
Register with Samsung as a Dealer
Once you’ve handled the legal side, it’s time to take care of the "Samsung side." This one is fairly simple – head on over to Samsung’s website and register for a dealer account. This requires you to provide some pretty basic information about your retail business such as your address and your EIN. Once you’re done with the application, you will wait for Samsung’s response. They might decide to ask for a few things extra before they approve your application, such as a business plan. Once they’re satisfied, they’ll send you a retail license. They’ll need you to sign a contract before you can sell their products.
Order Products from Samsung
Your application has been approved! Now what? Well, you buy goods in bulk from Samsung, depending on what you’re selling. Once you’re an approved Samsung dealer, you’ll have your own dealer account on their website, with a login and password. Use this account to order products from them. When you’re starting out, don’t make a large order. A small order will allow you to test the waters and see how fast your goods are moving. You also won’t be able to sell any products you haven’t directly bought from Samsung or secondhand products. That means you can’t resell Samsung products that aren’t in circulation anymore and you can’t sell products you bought from another Samsung dealer either.
Samsung Marketing Extras
Samsung will provide you with marketing materials to help you generate interest in their products, such as posters, fliers and even promotional videos. You should also have a fully functioning display model for every Samsung product you sell at your Samsung store. Keep them well maintained so that your consumers will be impressed when they test them and will want to buy the product. You can also give customers a little nudge of encouragement by offering various incentives, such as discounts and free-trial phone services for a month or more. This will help you get more customers.
