Portions of the training will also include hands-on components, and a final examination evaluation of skills. Adults age 18 and older can register for the training and file for certification.

Certification and Training Courses

A certified rod and reel technician offers a higher level or professionalism and expertise to the field. Only entry-level positions offer jobs for adults who do not already possess such training. New hires by major companies and many smaller ones as well, require trained and certified technician courses to be taken upon hire. The cost of the courses is typically less than $500, and last less than 1 week. Continuing education courses in rod and reel repair also often required by employers.
