Growth Trends for Related Jobs
Whether you have been with a company for four months or 40 years, you may find yourself seriously entertaining the notion of quitting your job and seeking employment somewhere else. The decision to quit your job is seldom an easy one, and it can be frustrating trying to figure out if quitting is really in your best interest. Recognizing the tell-tale signs that you should quit your job can make the process easier for you.
Coworkers that are unbearable to be around can severely impact not only your work performance but also your mental health and stress levels. If you find yourself dreading the time you have to spend at work because you cannot stand being around the people you work with, you may want to consider seeking employment somewhere else.
Depressing Work Environment
If you find yourself feeling increasingly depressed while at work and if that attitude is following you home at the end of your day, you may want to seriously consider quitting your job. Feeling sad, lost, hopeless or unmotivated because of the environment you work in can take a toll on your emotional well being and can damage your work ethic as well as relationships in and outside of work.
Lack of Advancement Opportunities
Some jobs simply do not offer the possibility of advancement or seem to pass over qualified employees for advancements that are available. If you have been working in the same position for a number of years without receiving a promotion you feel you have earned, quitting your job and finding another may be in your best interest.
Bad Supervisor Relationships
While your supervisor is entitled to tell you what to do as a result of their position, they are not allowed to dehumanize you, antagonize you or otherwise harass you simply because they are your boss. If you feel victimized by your supervisor or feel like you are constantly fighting with him, take it as a sign that you should leave your job and find a new one. Having a bad relationship with your supervisor can cause stress on your emotional well being.
