How to Look Up Teacher Salaries
Individual school districts and state departments of education provide salary schedules for their teachers for the current year in the human resources or recruitment sections of their websites. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is a branch of the U.S. Department of Labor that measures labor market activity, including salaries. The most up-to-date salary data provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is generally from the previous year. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were more than 4.5 million teachers working in the United States in 2008.
