Setting aims and objectives can go a long way to helping you achieve a personal desire, whether it be for your family, love life or business. Knowing what you want is the first step on conquering that goal, but setting the objective entails practices that will help you along the way to getting what you want. Keeping a goal journal, visualizing your objective and enlisting the help of others are just some ways to make setting goals and objectives a reality, not just a pipe dream.

Write down your aims and goals in a journal and make sure to read these goals aloud every day, possibly first thing in the morning when you awake. Seeing the objectives in print will keep them fresh in your mind and make them like a To Do list that you must accomplish.

Create a plan of attack for how to go after the goals. Just making aims isn't enough; you must know how you will go after them if you want to be successful. For example, if your aim is to graduate from college, you must make a plan of attack that includes applying and getting into school, getting together tuition money and studying to achieve good grades.

Tell friends and family about your objectives. By letting people know what you're aiming for, you'll feel more accountable about making sure you actually get the aim done, more so than if no one knew what you were up to.

Write in your journal daily, jotting down notes on what you did each day to progress toward your goals. This will help you monitor how on track you are for achieving your aims and objectives.
