Modeling for H&M is not an easy goal for an aspiring model to attain. Even though H&M is famous for fashion at bargain prices, the company spares no expense when it comes to hiring talent, and its campaigns feature internationally acclaimed top models. To increase your odds of becoming an H&M model, take a look at the women and men who have appeared in recent campaigns and follow their lead in building your career.

H&M Top Models

H&M casts its models at its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden. H&M works with international modeling agencies to book talent, and will only consider models with agency representation. The seven models showcased in H&M's 2015 campaign were Andreea Diaconu, Emily DiDonato, Jarrod Scott, Lara Stone, Roger Dupe, Rose Bertram and Lucky Blue Smith. These models secured the H&M jobs through their agents. Before working with H&M, these models were featured in editorial spreads in "Vogue," "GQ" and "Elle," and have modeled for brands such as Victoria's Secret, Calvin Klein and Versace, among others.

Agencies for H&M Female Models

If your goal as a model is focused on working for H&M specifically, target your agency search on the firms that have a history of successfully booking jobs with H&M. Three of the four female models featured in the 2015 H&M campaign were represented by IMG Models, and the fourth was represented by Marilyn Model Agency. You may apply through IMG’s website to be considered for agency representation. The application form requires you to provide basic biographical information, measurements, photos and a video. To apply to the Marilyn Model Agency, submit snapshots by email.

Agencies for H&M Male Models

The male models featured in the 2015 campaign were represented by Ford Models, Next Management and Wilhelmina. You may apply to Ford Models and Next Management directly on their websites by submitting an application, snapshots and video. Ford Models also holds open calls for new talent at their agencies in Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami. Wilhelmina allows prospective models to submit through its website or attend an open call in Los Angeles or Miami. As of 2015, Wilhelmina also conducts model search competitions through Twitter via the handle @getscouted.

Advice for Successful Submissions to Agencies

The talent scouts from agencies that represent H&M models want to see the real you in your photo and video submissions. Your face should be free from makeup and your clothing should be simple. Agencies may have specific height and age requirements for models as well. For example, Wilhelmina looks for female models between the ages of 15 and 23, and males between the ages of 15 and 25; women must be over 5'9" tall and men must be over 6' tall.
