If you are looking for a good, stable career, then an apprenticeship with Southern California Edison is a logical place to start. Although you will be spending a lot of time in the beginning without much pay, if any, it will set you up for a long-term relationship with the company that can last a lifetime. The easiest way to apply for a Southern California Edison apprenticeship is through their website.
Applying for a SCE Apprenticeship
Go to the Southern California Edison website.
Scroll all the way down to the very bottom of the website where the head company’s main menu resides. The options are “Edison International,” “NYSE EIX,” “Press Room,” “Investors” and “Careers.”
Click on the “Careers” link.
Look at the “Search Jobs” page and look for the company logos. Your options will be “Southern California Edison,” “Edison International” and “Edison Mission Group.”
Choose the “Southern California Edison” link.
Find the “Search Jobs” button once you are on the “Careers at Southern California Edison” page and click on it.
Type in a keyword on the “Search Jobs” page or just pick an occupation to search. For “Career Level” select “Apprentice.” You can search all apprentice jobs by bypassing the keyword and occupation sections.
Select the box next to the job or jobs you want to apply for and then click “Apply.”
Answer the required questions, at minimum. These are personal data, attachments (where you will attach your resume) and questionnaire. Click “Send Application.”
Review your entered responses on the next page. Agree with any given terms and then click “Send Application” again to send your apprentice application to Southern California Edison.
Make sure your pop-up blocker is off before begining the application process. Use only standard fonts and colors on your resume, nothing fancy. Also, avoid any pictures or designs. You are more likely to get hired if you have a degree or work experience in the field that you are applying for. Some apprenticeships will need a two-year degree, while others require a four-year degree.
