A fingerprint background check simply means that instead of just searching records on your name and Social Security number, an employer conducts a search using your fingerprints This approach is common in federal security jobs, governmental offices and other public offices. A fingerprint check overcomes changes you might have made to your name or identity to cover up past criminal offenses or records. A red flag is a finding from the search that raises a concern.
