Knowing your annual salary makes it easier to budget your expenses over the long term. But not everyone's salary is based on an annual figure. Many employees are paid on a weekly or biweekly basis, and most are paid an hourly wage. But in any case you can use these figures to calculate how much you earn per year.
Make It Annual
If you are a salaried employee, you can calculate your annual salary by simply multiplying your regular pay by the number of pay periods in the year. For example, if you are paid every two weeks you would multiply your biweekly salary by 26; if you are paid weekly, you would multiply by 52.
If you are paid on an hourly basis, you need to calculate your annual salary based on the number of hours you work in a year. For example, if you work 40 hours per week you would multiply 40 by 52 to get 2,080 annual hours. You would then multiply this by your hourly wage to get an annual salary. If your weekly hours vary, use an average of a few weeks to estimate how much you typically work per week.
