Typical Work Hours of a Paleontologist
Paleontology is the study of fossils. While movies portray paleontologists as scientists who spend their time unearthing dinosaur bones, most of them actually work in laboratories or in museums.
Time Frame
Paleontologists do not have typical work hours. In fact, work hours will depend on the place of employment. Some paleontologists work in the field, others work in labs.
Significance
Since paleontologists do not have typical work hours, they must be willing to alter their schedules when new opportunities present themselves. When working in the field, paleontologists may work around the clock.
Considerations
Hours may be extended when working in an office setting. In some scenarios, deadlines and further research may require overtime beyond the standard office hours.
