Some hospitals have an online site that they prefer you apply through. You will need three professional references, a list of degrees, exact work history and any certifications. Due to tight federal and state regulations on hospitals, your prior employers and references will be contacted. If you are called for an interview and proceed through the process, you will also be expected to take and pass a comprehensive drug test. Some hospitals will take a hair sample to test the use of illicit drugs in the past 12 months. Most hospitals do seek to recruit and hire polished candidates who have demonstrated their abilities in the health care field.
