In one hour or less, you can make the cash you need to buy lunch, cover an emergency or save for a rainy day. Easy money typically means things you can do with minimal effort.
Make a Viral Video
Armed with a smart device or camcorder, capture and post a few seconds of "the right" footage to YouTube for thousands or millions of people to watch and share repeatedly. Then, monetize the video. Monetizing prompts are available in your free YouTube account. If your video is approved for monetization, YouTube displays advertisements before or during the video. If it goes viral, immediately and over time, your cut of advertising revenue from a few minutes of effort could be as low as a few bucks or as high as six figures.
Not every video is share-worthy, though. Be a little calculating and shoot footage of subjects known to go viral like babies, elderly people and baby animals, recommends Claire Cain Miller in a New York Times article.
Hospitals need your plasma -- the part of your blood that's mostly water -- to treat patients and for research. Plasma collection centers exist for this purpose. It's easy to qualify. You need to be at least 18 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in relatively good health. (REF 1) If you're in good health, you can donate plasma up to two times a week. BioLife Plasma Services explains that it can take up to two hours for first-time donors but an average of 45 minutes for repeat donors to make a plasma donation. (See Ref 1, "how long...")
Plasma centers usually pay same day and up to $40, according to an article published in U.S. News.
Corporations want to know everything about you and are willing to pay for that information. Enter online surveys: Various websites solicit your participation to complete surveys on a range of subjects in exchange for pay. Some surveys can be completed in less than one hour. You get paid for every survey you complete successfully.
Don't expect to earn a king's ransom from answering questions about your personal preferences and habits, though. Some survey providers pay cash -- $1, sometimes a bit more -- others offer retailer discounts and other types of vouchers. Research survey providers to learn which ones pay cash and how fast they pay.
Sell Items -- Your Own or Other People's Freebies
Sell things of value that you don't need to your local pawn shop. It only takes the time to get to the pawn shop and negotiate prices to make easy money. Items you can sell to a pawn shop include, but are not limited to: (REF 2)
- Fine jewelry
- Sporting equipment
- Video games
You also can browse online and local newspaper classified ads for free stuff -- things people are giving away for free. Sell those items to the pawn shop to earn cash in less than 1 hour.
If you live in a high-population area, doing easy tasks for others that don't take more than 1 hour can be an effective way to earn money. You can either market the tasks you do for people solo -- walking dogs, making photocopies, buying groceries -- or join a task service like TaskRabbit or Gigwalk. Limit the tasks you accept to the time it takes and the amount of effort you have to put in. For example, avoid dog walking tasks unless you love dogs and it's a breeze for you spend a little time walking them.
